Doug is responsible for identifying, structuring, and financing mergers and acquisitions and capital formation transactions for public and private technology companies. During an investment banking career that spans over 25 years, he has accumulated extensive experience providing strategic and financial advisory services to entrepreneurs, board members, and financial sponsors active in the enterprise software and digital media sectors. Doug has advised on numerous domestic and cross-border transactions involving major technology consolidators as well as leading technology-focused private equity firms.
Prior to joining CriticalPoint, Doug was a Managing Director and Head of Technology M&A at Truist Securities. He also served as Co-Head of software at advisory firm Mooreland Partners, was a member of the leadership team at ThinkEquity, where he was Head of Investment Banking and M&A and a member of the Management Committee, and led the software and digital media M&A practice at SVB Alliant (the investment banking affiliate of Silicon Valley Bank). Doug’s prior experience included roles at Merrill Lynch & Co. as a senior technology banker and head of the firm’s Middle Market Technology M&A practice. Doug began his career in the M&A groups at Robertson Stephens and Banc of America Securities.
Doug received his MBA with distinction from Santa Clara University’s Leavy School of Business with a concentration in Finance. He is a Registered Representative of CriticalPoint Partners, LLC and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 licenses.
