We are pleased to announce that Mike Balistreri has joined the firm’s Investment Banking team as a Managing Director, where he will be focused on restructuring and special situations. Mr. Balistreri specializes in providing investment banking and capital structure advisory services to companies, creditors and equity holders across various industries in storied, complex and distressed situations. Over his 20-year career, Mike has served clients through formulating and executing creative transaction solutions that include mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings, recapitalizations and capital raisings.
Mr. Balistreri represents a key hire in expanding CriticalPoint’s restructuring and special situation expertise. He has received numerous industry accolades, including the Emerging Leader Award from The M&A Advisor and was a “40 Under 40” honoree from both the American Bankruptcy Institute and National Association of Certified Valuators & Analysts. He has also appeared on Turnaround & Workouts’ lists of “Outstanding Investment Bankers” and “Business Professionals Making Their Mark,” in addition to being named as a “Top Restructuring & Turnaround Professional” by The Global M&A Network.
Mr. Balistreri joins CriticalPoint from Alvarez & Marsal, where he was a Partner serving as a Managing Director in the firm’s Corporate Finance practice and member of its North American Commercial Restructuring group. Previously, he was a Managing Director at Canaccord Genuity, where he was a founding member of the U.S. Debt Finance & Restructuring practice. Mike was also a Managing Director at Bacchus Capital Management, a private equity and alternative lending fund, and a Vice President at Gordian Group, an investment banking firm focused on distressed advisory.
