CriticalPoint is pleased to announce our role as co-advisor, along with BDA Partners, to Printronix, a worldwide leader in industrial printing solutions, in the sale of their Thermal/AIDC business to TSC Auto ID Technology Co., Ltd.

TSC acquired the Printronix Thermal business, which is comprised of stationary and mobile thermal printers, barcode verification, RFID, and PrintCart product lines. The thermal business will operate post-close under the name Printronix Auto-ID Inc. and will be a subsidiary of TSC Auto ID. Printronix retains its core impact printing business, where it holds the leading global position, and will continue to operate as a stand-alone company under the name Printronix, LLC. Printronix, based in Irvine, CA, manufactures and sells line matrix printers and associated consumables worldwide.

Werner Heid, CEO at Printronix, stated, “The guidance that we received from the team at CriticalPoint was invaluable as we navigated through the sale process. Their ability to help design the key parameters of a value maximizing deal structure sets them apart.”

Chairman of Printronix, Dan Allen, continued, “CriticalPoint was able to work collaboratively with our team as a true partner to help us strategize on what the best outcome would be for our company. Brad and Matt’s expertise in executing transactions from their more than 20 years at Platinum Equity and their extensive relationships within the private equity landscape made their counsel invaluable.”

Matt Young, founder and CEO, of CriticalPoint, stated, “We are thrilled with the outcome of this transaction and thoroughly enjoyed working with the Printronix management team throughout the M&A process. This was a very complex corporate divestiture which was expertly handled by all parties in the process and has ultimately resulted in a great outcome for our client.”
